A few years ago I was at a design show when I spotted this light fixture and did a double take. It’s not that I didn’t recognize the product—heck, everyone has seen the light at some point, albeit on a smaller scale. Normally, the Anglepoise Original 1227 is an aluminum table lamp with a telescoping arm that extends and folds. Designed by George Carwardine more than 75 years ago, the lamp was reissued recently. The Giant1227 light, however, is three times the size of the standard lamp. With a reach of about 9 feet, it has an aluminum base with castors for mobility and comes with a bulb and dimmer. www.anglepoise.com.
