Luceplan’s Blow Fan is Very Cool, But Very Pricey

The Blow fan, from Italian lighting powerhouse Luceplan, is perhaps the coolest fan I’ve seen (and I’ve seen some good ones). Unlike most fans, Blow’s light source is mounted above its blades. The highly transparent main body and the blades are made from lightweight polycarbonate, and the motor operates at an ultra-quiet 32 decibels. Moreover, the manufacturer has updated the product with a dimmable halogen lamp and increased the motor speed by 50 percent. Priced at $1,395, the product uses an infrared remote control.

  1. I want one too, but at those prices! It is easily the most expensive fan I’ve ever seen. Of course, it had to come from the Italians, right? But then again, only the Italians–or maybe the Germans or the Danes–could come up with something so exquisite.
