If you’ve been reading our little blog, you know that we are geeks for anything (legitimately) green, sustainable, or energy-efficient. Are we tree-huggers? Perhaps, but we also believe products should look good. (What’s the point of a green product that looks like crap?) These new Crush tiles from San Jose, Calif.-based Fireclay Tile hit all the right notes. Made from 100 percent recycled glass, Crush is manufactured from raw waste glass that the company sources from within 20 miles of its factory. The colors exhibit soft hues and the names are inspired by natural elements such as Acai, Poppy, and Walnut. (They’re a tad twee for our taste, but we won’t hold it against them). Tiles are made to order and are available in 40 colors and 17 sizes. Custom orders also are available. www.fireclaytile.com.
