Want to Know What a $100,000 Stove Looks Like?

I know an architect who swears by La Cornue ranges. They are best in the world, he says, which is why he and his wife paid $38,000 for their canary yellow unit. But that price pales in comparison to the French producer’s Château Series. Each range in the line is custom-made, one-at-a-time in the company’s atelier outside of Paris, where each unit is assembled by a single worker who devotes at least 40 hours to one range. Customers can select their preferred cooking elements, as well as tons of other features. The ranges come in 28 colors, or create any custom color you wish. The Icy Blue unit shown below is set in an island configuration with solid walnut drawers. It will cost you a cool $103,150. www.lacornueusa.com.
