Products We Love: “Rescued” Lumber Furniture

Urban Hardwoods

We came across this Seattle outfit some years ago, and we just found out that they’re still in business. The company deals in salvage lumber but not the type you generally see. Instead of deconstructing old barns, warehouses, and industrial structures, it rescues urban trees that were either cut down for construction projects or felled by storms. Then the company’s craftsmen and furniture makers go to work, turning the lumber into very cool tables, benches, and desks. It also sells raw lumber if you want to get your hands dirty.
