Simpson Door Co.
Wood exterior doors look great for about 5 minutes after they’re installed, then the elements get a hold of them and, well, you know how that story ends. These Nantucket Collection wood doors aren’t those wood doors—at least that’s what the manufacturer says. They will not warp, twist, or separate at the most vulnerable part of a wood door—the stiles and rails. Made from black locust or Nootka cypress (durable species that do well in harsh climates), the doors feature a floating mortise-and-tenon with face-driven pins to eliminate stile and rail separation. And starting from about $700, they’re not outrageously expensive. www.simpson.com.
