Architect Charlie Lazor (of FlatPak prefab housing fame) started Blu Dot with a couple of college buddies to bring affordable and desirable products to the market. Though we’re not sure they hit the affordable mark—at least not in the same way that IKEA does—the company still makes products with a high cool factor. This Splash coat rack is a just one example. At 65 inches tall, the rack is made from powder-coated steel and solid walnut. It’s sturdy enough to hold your jackets, hats, scarves, and bags, but it will do it in style. Available in grey and bright blue, the piece costs $279. www.bludot.com.
