handmade tape lamp

Transparent House

We’re all for design objects made from everyday items, but only if they yield cool-looking results. So imagine our delight when the Tape Lamp came over the transom. A creative collaboration between Denis Krylov, Yuri Pitomtsev, and Andrei Hakhovich, the lamp is hand-assembled with Plexiglas and one hundred micro-cassettes. It uses a 40-watt Vida Large G-16.5 globe bulb. Though we appreciate the hip factor, we really don’t appreciate the $1,200 price tag. If you’re inclined to pony up, buy it at www.etsy.com. www.transparenthouse.com.
